farm sensory tub

After seeing a couple of cute farm sensory tubs on pinterest, I knew I would have to put one together for the kids to play with during our farm themed week! I added a couple of small clear plastic containers after I snapped the picture for scooping and pouring practice and to feed the animals of course!

materials -
1 large bag of popcorn kernals
barn
tractor
farm animals
small containers

I am linking this post up to the preschool corner and our country road.

co-op class - astronomy

I put together a sensory tub for our astronomy class after I saw the astronomy tub over at Counting Coconuts. I had a lot of rice on hand so I decided to color the rice instead of buying aquarium rocks, but I really like the way her's looks with the rocks. The idea is for the ones that finish their work early, they can play in the sensory tub to keep busy while everyone else finishes their work. We will see how it goes! Even if they don't enjoy it, at least my son loves it and has enjoyed playing with it this week!

items in box
colored rice - blue
glass stones
Mars Rover
astronaut
alumium foil balls (moon rocks)
bouncy balls (planets
neon colored jacks (stars)
golf ball (moon)

fall sensory box

I finally jumped on the themed sensory tub band wagon and put together one for the kids today. They have played with it several different ways, but their most favorite way to play with it is to hide the wooden turtle under the leaves and then find him again!

materials-
plastic leaves ($1.00 at Dollar General)
felt apple beanbags
some old potpourri
wooden turtle

sensory tub

I don't know why I've not put together a sensory tub for the kids before today. They LOVED it! They scooped and poured and then scooped and poured some more!

sensory tub:
lima beans
black beans
kidney beans
lentils
split peas
rice

**UPDATE -

Maybe this is why I've never let my children play with a sensory tub :)
